Leibster Award

Miss Hannah Marie recently nominated me for a Liebster Award, which is an award passed on to bloggers with less than 200 followers. The gist is that if you're nominated, you share 11 facts about yourself, answer the 11 questions from the person who nominated you, then come up with 11 questions for the 11 people you nominate. Whew! So let's get started.
  1. I am currently a senior in college majoring in communication and Spanish. Si, puedo hablar espaƱol pero no soy fluido.
  2. My dog is named after my favorite piece of punctuation--the Oxford comma.
  3. I tie bows upside down and backwards, according to my mom and gramma. However, my bows always turn out pretty, thank you very much.
  4. I started learning sign language when I was nine and started interpreting in church when I was 12. Sign language is my second language, Spanish is my third.
  5. Colored pens are a must for everything. Taking notes, writing in journals, teaching Spanish. I'm pretty sure I'd cry if a bully stole my colored pens.
  6. Dork had no idea I existed until we were forced to be in a skit together. *Spoiler alert if you decide to click the link* We started dating three weeks later.
  7. Rarely will you find me barefoot. It makes my feet feel dirty. This is why I have a ginormous sock collection.
  8. I'm afraid of bodies of water that have fish in them. I really really really do not like fish. Just ask Dork how swimming with dolphins went (big dolphin= okay, tiny fish in water = scary).
  9. The besties and I were once photobombed by our favorite author. I still giggle every time I think about it.
  10. That taste-buds-change-every-seven-years thing? It's true. When I turned 21, I stopped liking Raising Cane's (the horror!) and my favorite buttercream icing.
  11. Dork and I once had a motorcycle wreck.  His first thought when he saw me lying on the ground fifty feet away was "I killed her." My first thought was "Where's my other shoe?" Alas, we were both fine aside from some scrapes and bruises, but my favorite shoes did not survive the accident.
  1. If you could take a vacation anywhere, where would you go and who would you take with you? Easy peasy, Italy with Dork.
  2. What is your dream job? Something creative, perhaps full-time blogging. Or owning a cupcake bakery. I also would love to teach high school Spanish.
  3. What is your favorite book? My favorite books, yes plural, are the Gallagher Girl books by Ally Carter. But you probably figured that out by now, huh?
  4. Favorite movie or TV show? Favorite movies are both of the Princess Diaries. Princesses, Julie Andrews, Chris Pine--what's not to love? Favorite TV show is Duck Dynasty. Louisiana proud.
  5. Favorite blog? Kendi Everyday. Through the years I've read and stopped reading many a blog, but I always enjoy her cute outfits and writing style.
  6. What did you want to be when you grew up? An artist. Why, I have no idea, since never in my life have I been able to draw. Unless you need someone to draw you a monkey. In that case, I'm your girl.
  7. What is your favorite article of clothing? My wedding dress doesn't count, does it? In that case, probably my bubble skirt. I looked for one for forever and then found this one for $8. WIN!
  8. If you could have lunch with anyone, who would it be and why? Why my husband of course, because I love him! Or Julie Andrews, because I'm pretty sure she really is a queen. Sigh, she's so regal.
  9. Favorite food? Macaroni and cheese. Velveeta only, please.
  10. Favorite childhood memory? "Cruisin'" with my dad around town with the music (usually tobyMac) blaring. When I was little we cruised in his Corvette, then later in his PT Cruiser convertible. Top down, of course. (Or topless, as he likes to say.)
  11. How did you get started blogging? After being a part of Weardrobe (may it rest in peace) and stalking fashion blogs for a few years, I decided I'd give it a shot. I guess it went alright, because here I still am!

  1. Who is the number one person you would like to meet?
  2. What is the most used app on your phone? Or, what website do you frequent the most?
  3. Samoas or thin mints?
  4. Do you collect anything? If so, what?
  5. You just won a million dollars! Congratulations. What is the first thing you buy?
  6. How would you describe your perfect morning?
  7. Finish the sentence. I can't live without...
  8. What makes you smile?
  9. What do you wear if you have nothing to do and nowhere to go?
  10. Favorite royal? (Disney princesses count, too.)
  11. What is the best thing that's ever happened to you?
I'll be honest, I don't really read that many blogs. However, I'm trying to remedy that, so please give me suggestions of blogs I should be reading! In the meantime, check out these lovely ladies.

  1. You're so thoughtful! I'm also trying to grow my list of loved blogs.

I forgot about that motorcycle accident! Do you still ride?

  2. Nope! As soon as he saw me lying on the ground (possibly dead), he decided to sell it. It survived the accident with not even a scratch!

  3. Well, aren't you sweet! I loved reading your facts too-I didn't know you knew sign language- what a wonderful thing that really everyone should know a bit of. Also, I'm not a big fan of fish in water either. I really don't like swimming in open water. Or at all. haha.

  4. I'm not big into swimming, but it's alright every once in a while. If there are no fish, of course.
